Biography
Bas Neggers was trained as a biophysicist at the University of Nijmegen, the Netherlands, and received his MSc degree in experimental physics in 1996. He obtained his PhD from the Ludwig-Maximilian-University of Munich in 2000 while working at the Max-Planck-Institute in Munich. After returning to the Netherlands in 2001 he worked as a PostDoc at the Helmholtz Institute in Utrecht on visuo-motor control, where he developed several novel functional neuroimaging and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) techniques. After working for 2 years as an assistant professor at Utrecht University, he accepted an assistant professorship at the neuroimaging research group of Prof. Dr. Hulshoff-Pol at the University Medical Center Utrecht. He accepted an associate professorship at the UMC Utrecht early 2013. He currently heads the neuro STimulation and Registration Lab (STARlab) that works on functional neuroimaging and neurostimulation methods, neurocomputational modeling and the control of action preparation in healthy subjects and patients with several disorders. In november 2011, he founded an innovative startup company 'Brain Science Tools BV', where techniques from the STARlab are brought to market.
